About Doves of White

Our goal is to make special occasions that much more memorable”

L. David Truskowsky is a funeral director in Mahanoy City. In January 2005, his grandmother died in the Pittsburg area and he experienced his first dove release at her grave side service. As a family member he was deeply touched to say the least. As a funeral director, he was full of questions. I talked to the funeral director and he told me that since that service started, he and many other funeral homes in the Pittsburgh area have been very satisfied to be able to offer this special service that is truly unique. David Truskowsky also says that it is deeply satisfying for all who experience a Dove Release including the funeral director who wants to provide the best service he can. Now I can provide my families more through this service that I will now give as a gift to all of my families who choose to have services at my Funeral Home.

The Doves

Our doves are specially bred for their pure white color and natural homing instinct. They are healthy, vaccinated athletes that are carefully conditioned for your special day to return home safely. There are some occasions when we can not release the Doves such as during rain, snow, fog, high wind, or near dusk. The birds have a strong instinct to fly home to the loft therefore cannot be released indoors.
